Since 2022, Rahul has also been on the Board of Directors of ECI Development, a premier real estate development company that delivers affordable luxury residence and resort communities in Central America. He advises ECI’s leadership team on action plans to improve financial, operational and organizational performance as well as the planning and construction strategy of its resorts and communities. He has helped ECI to develop a scalable program of systems, policies, processes, reporting and operational guidelines as the company continues its growth in the future.
Having worked with Marriott International for over 25 years, supporting the vision and objectives of the company, Rahul was known for challenging the status quo. As Vice President for Owner & Franchise Relations as well as the Marriott Managed Select Brand portfolio for the Caribbean and Latin America, Rahul directed business operations and support for 146 hotels operated by third party franchise operators in 33 countries with over a $1B in aggregate revenue. Simultaneously, Rahul oversaw the management of 44 Marriott Select Brand hotels in 16 countries with aggregate P&L and performance responsibilities. Prior to that, as Area Vice President, Rahul oversaw the overall growth, operational performance, support and aggregated results for Marriott’s managed portfolio of luxury, premium and select brands in Central America and South America. While at Marriott, he received awards as the Renaissance Hotel brand’s Global General Manager of the Year, the Alice S. Marriott Award for Community Service Excellence, Global Awards for Sales Leadership Excellence, Customer Service Excellence and Financial Excellence.
Rahul is multi-lingual with fluency in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French and Hindi. Progressing through multiple leadership positions including hotel General Manager roles in Brazil and the US with Marriott, Rahul has adopted a servant leadership approach to building and leading high performing and empowered teams. Having worked his way up through luxury hotel operations in India, Switzerland, UK, Brazil, Dominican Republic, Saint Lucia (BWI)and the US, Rahul has a keen understanding of the operations and mechanics of growing organizations and enhancing performance from the inside.
Driving performance in small, medium and large hospitality companies across US/LATAM/Caribbean, Rahul is known as a strategist that consistently identifies opportunities for improvement and business growth. He pushes the envelope for benchmark performance to drive top and bottom-line growth.
Rahul has served on multiple non-profit boards throughout his career. He has personal vested interest in the effects of climate change on the planet and global health. He believes in environmental friendliness, sustainability practices and improving communities where businesses operate. He lives with his wife in Orange County, California.
